Thank you for accessing this page, referenced on the back of the newly released album BISON BISON. It is a collection of sounds and experimentations that worked themselves out through the bitter cold of an Edmonton winter. Much of this work was improvised and the idea of the “one take track” was implemented quite frequently in the process. The songs were recorded on side streets, in wilderness, in livingrooms, kitchens, and subway stations. I maintained the mindset and theory that music and sound will fall into place in the way that it is meant to if it is allowed. The result is a group of songs with intentionally left-in hisses, crackles, pops, and imperfections. The assymetry is the most interesting part to me. With the feel of an old record, BISON BISON is unpolished and raw, much like the winter during which it was conceived. I do hope you enjoy this work, and keep a look out for more to come!

Mom, Dad, Max, & Myah. All the Great Canadian Musicians with whom I’ve had the pleasure of playing. Sydney Gross for the pretty pictures. Perry Gratton for the pretty posters. Spencer Carson for his hard work and undying willingness to help a friend. The many violinists on this record, Syd, Victoria, Paula, and Sophie.
